Lil Durk wants to release a country album with Morgan Wallen. The two have a close friendship and Durk wants to explore it further with a possible country-rap crossover.
In a screenshot shared on Instagram, Thursday (June 8), Durk said, “Me and Morgan should do an album together [trophy emoji] 1st to do it.”
In the accompanying caption, the “All My Life” rapper confidently praised their undeniable chemistry and track record of success as a duo, stating, “Everything we do, we win. We might as well do a country album—first to do it.”
Durk and Morgan Wallen’s friendship has blossomed ever since their initial collaboration on the hit track “Broadway Girls” in 2021. However, their bond truly strengthened when Durk stood by Morgan’s side after he was caught on video using a racial slur. Despite the controversy, Durk, whose real name is Derrick Banks, reached out to Morgan several months later, extending an invitation to join him on stage for a special performance of “Broadway Girls” at the MLK Freedom Fest held at Nashville’s prestigious Bridgestone Arena.
During the event, Durk assured the crowd, “Can’t nobody cancel s— without me saying it, you know what I’m saying?” showcasing his unwavering support for Wallen.
The two recently collaborated on “Stand By Me,” a track from Durk’s latest album, Almost Healed. Interestingly, they both vied for the No. 2 spot on the charts, with Wallen outselling Durk by 4,000 copies.
