Lisa Marie Presley, the daughter of the legendary pop singer Elvis Presley, was rushed to the hospital on Thursday morning (Jan. 12) after her housekeeper discovered her unresponsive at her residence in Calabasas. Sources report that responding paramedics performed CPR at the scene and were able to revive her before transporting her to the hospital.
Prior to being hospitalized, Presley had been experiencing symptoms such as abdominal pain, fevers, vomiting, and nausea, but she had not sought medical assistance.
According to a toxicology report, the official cause of her death was determined to be a blockage in her small intestine. This blockage occurred as a result of complications from a previous weight loss surgery.
The report also revealed the presence of Oxycodone, a painkiller, Buprenorphine, a medication used to treat opioid addiction, and Quetiapine, an antipsychotic, in her system. It was disclosed that she had been following an extreme weight loss plan, which included a cosmetic procedure requiring prescription pain medication. However, no illegal drugs were found in her home at the time of her hospitalization.
Presley is survived by her mother Priscilla, her oldest daughter Riley Keough, and her twins Harper and Finley Lockwood. Her memorial service at Graceland included musical tributes from Axl Rose, Billy Corgan, and Alanis Morissette.
