Earlier this year, rapper Offset made headlines when he publicly accused his wife, Cardi B, of cheating on him. In a now-deleted post, the 31-year-old Migos rapper wrote, “‘My wife f****d a n**** on me gang yall n***** know how I come.” Although he failed to provide proof, his remarks forced Cardi B to call him out in a Twitter spaces session.
During an appearance on the Way Up Podcast with Angela Yee, Offset opened up about the controversial comments, admitting that he and Cardi were having a heated argument and he was under the influence of tequila when he made the tweet. “That post, to be honest… that’s my wife. I love her to death, but we’re going back and forth and if you’ve got a New York woman, you know, she’s a pitbull at the mouth. She gets crazy at the mouth a little bit, and I was really lit that night. I was lit, had a little Casamigos here and there.”
He explained that in the heat of the moment, he wanted to provoke a reaction from Cardi, which led him to post something impulsive, a post he later regretted and deleted. Acknowledging the passionate dynamic between them, he stated, “She got a crazy mouth, but I love my wife at the end of the day. But she’s crazy, man. I’m crazy. We’re crazy for each other.”
In response to Offset’s accusations, Cardi B took to Twitter spaces to address the situation, “First of all, let me say, you can’t accuse me of all the things you know that you are guilty of. Sing it with me, y’all!” Cardi made it clear that she will not be blamed for actions she hasn’t committed and emphasized that Offset is “spiraling and thinking s*** that’s not true.”
Asserting her status as a high-profile figure, she stated, “I’m Cardi B. I think sometimes motherf*rs forget I’m Cardi B. If I was giving this p** to anybody, it would be out. I’m not just anybody.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Offset addressed his infidelity after he tied the knot with Cardi B back in 2017, stating, “When I did do that, I was in a different space. I was young. I had just got married. I’m getting a lot of money,’ he said, adding communication was a challenge, and they both struggled to express their “wants and needs” effectively.
Despite the difficulties they faced, he expressed his gratitude for Cardi B’s understanding and support during his journey of growth. He praised her for being a “real one” who recognized and appreciated his efforts to improve as a person.
Offset also spoke about how he would react if Cardi cheated on him. Addressing the hypothetical situation, the Atlanta rapper pronounced that their bond was much more profound than being just boyfriend and girlfriend or co-parents.
“That’s my wife. That’s what n****as don’t understand. This not my little girlfriend or no baby mamma or nothing. It’s my wife, it’s my household, this is where I put my house in. We raise our children together. Like playing games cause you see things on the internet can take things to other places. I’m a grown man, I’m not playing bout mine, never.”
“She a different type of girl I ever been with. To be honest, she a G, she pop her mouth and like talk crazy but on a lord’s level I ain’t never been with a woman as loyal,” Offset said about his wife.
Meanwhile, Cardi B may potentially face battery charges for tossing her microphone at a fan this past weekend. The incident happened after the fan splashed a drink at the mother of two during her performance of “Bodak Yellow” at at Drai’s Nightclub on Saturday (July 29). As reported by TMZ, the woman struck by the microphone sought out Las Vegas Metro PD the following day to report the incident. She claimed that Cardi B had encouraged the audience to spray water on her as she was feeling hot. Video footage obtained by TMZ supports the woman’s account of the incident.
