Iuri Lapicus, a two-division standout in ONE Championship, has died at the age of 27. ONE Champion announced the tragic news on Monday (March 20) and said it was ‘heartbroken’ by the news.
“The ONE Championship team is heartbroken over the tragic passing of Iuri Lapicus,” the promotion wrote in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to his loved ones at this difficult time.”

Iuri Lapicus died to injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash last week in Italy. Milano Today reports the MMA fighter, who recently fought ex-UFC star Eddie Alvarez crashed his motorbike Friday into a vehicle driven by a 69-year-old woman in northwest Milan, and was thrown several feet from the crash site. He was taken by helicopter to a hospital in the city, where he remained in a coma until he tragically succumbed to his injuries on Monday.
Lapicus began his MMA career with 14-straight wins, four of which were by knockouts. He eventually lost to Christian Lee at ONE Championship: Inside the Matrix back in October 2020. The Modolvan-Italian’s last fight was on August 26, 2022, a loss against Sweden’s Zebaztian Kadestam.
