Victoria Lee, a rising phenom in mixed martial arts, has died at the age of 18. Victoria’s sister, Angela Lee, announced the tragic news on January 7 with a lengthy post on Instagram.
“On December 26, 2022, our family experienced something no family should ever have to go through…It is incredibly difficult to say this…Our Victoria passed away. She has gone too soon and our family has been completely devastated since then,” she wrote. “We miss her. More than anything in this world. Our family will never be the same. Life will never be the same.
“Victoria was the most beautiful soul who ever lived. She was the best little sister in the world. The best daughter, the best granddaughter, and the best godman/aunty to Ava and Alia,” she continued. “We miss you so much, sis. More than you could ever realize. We’re all broken. Because a piece of you was in each of us and when you left, those pieces were ripped out of us. We will never be the same.
“Every little thing makes me think of you. From the sun’s rays to the sunset. You taught us to see the beauty in the simple things. You were our bright light. Our sunshine. And that will never change. You were perfect in every way. The best person I knew. The most beautiful girl, inside and out. We love you Victoria. I love you, Sprout. Until the end of time.”
The ONE Championship team, which Lee promoted and fought in, said it was “devastated” about the news.
“We send our most heartfelt condolences to her family and friends at this difficult time,” they wrote on social media.

At the age of 16, Victoria Lee, who was active on Instagram, made her professional MMA debut in February 2021. Lee used a rear-naked choke to finish Sunisa Srisan in the second round of her debut match at ONE: Fists of Fury. At an early age, I knew this was what I wanted to do after winning the Junior World Championships.
“I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to be able to compete in this organization, especially to be able to do it with my siblings and my family. I’m just so grateful where I am.”
According to MMA Junkie, Lee excelled as an amateur, winning the IMMAF junior world championship, the Hawaii state wrestling championship, and the Hawaiian pankration junior world championship twice. Before her death, Lee was slated to defend her title against 24-year-old Zeba Bano from India, for the ONE on Prime Video 6 event in Bangkok on Saturday, January 14, 2023
