American Olympic medalist Tori Bowie has sadly passed away at the young age of 32. According to multiple reports, the former Team USA track star was found deceased Tuesday (May 2) in Florida.
Her management confirmed the tragic news in a statement released on Wednesday (May 3).
“We’ve lost a client, dear friend, daughter and sister,” the sports agency said on Twitter. “Tori was a champion…a beacon of light that shined so bright! We’re truly heartbroken and our prayers are with the family and friends.”
USA Track and Field CEO Max Siegel also shared his condolences. “USATF is deeply saddened by the passing of Tori Bowie, a three-time Olympic medalist and two-time world champion,” Max Siegel said in a statement. “A talented athlete, her impact on the sport is immeasurable, and she will be greatly missed.”

UPDATE: Tori Bowie died from complications of childbirth, according to an autopsy report obtained by multiple outlets.
TMZ reports the three-time Olympic medalist, was found dead in her Florida home on May 2. According to the coroner’s report obtained by the news outlet, Bowie was about 8 months pregnant and “undergoing labor” when she passed.
According to reports, Deputies were sent to Tori Bowie’s home for a well-being check after her loved ones told cops they had not seen or heard from her in several days.
When officers arrived at her residence in the 5400 block of Bowman Drive they made entry and found Bowie dead in the room. While a preliminary investigation showed no foul play was involved, The Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating the circumstances to determine the death cause.

Tori Bowie was born on August 27, 1990, in Sand Hill, Mississippi, and grew up in a small town called Rankin County. Her parents were both truck drivers, and Tori was the youngest of their four children.
As a child, Tori was always interested in sports, but it wasn’t until high school that she began to focus on track and field. She attended Pisgah High School, where she played basketball and ran track. In her senior year, she won the state championship in the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash.
