American Olympic medalist Tori Bowie has sadly passed away at the young age of 32. According to multiple reports, the former Team USA track star was found deceased Tuesday (May 2) in Florida. 

Her management confirmed the tragic news in a statement released on Wednesday (May 3).

“We’ve lost a client, dear friend, daughter and sister,” the sports agency said on Twitter. “Tori was a champion…a beacon of light that shined so bright! We’re truly heartbroken and our prayers are with the family and friends.”

USA Track and Field CEO Max Siegel also shared his condolences. “USATF is deeply saddened by the passing of Tori Bowie, a three-time Olympic medalist and two-time world champion,” Max Siegel said in a statement. “A talented athlete, her impact on the sport is immeasurable, and she will be greatly missed.”

Tori Bowie’s Cause Of Death Explained 

UPDATE: Tori Bowie died from complications of childbirth, according to an autopsy report obtained by multiple outlets.

TMZ reports the three-time Olympic medalist, was found dead in her Florida home on May 2. According to the coroner’s report obtained by the news outlet, Bowie was about 8 months pregnant and “undergoing labor” when she passed.

According to reports, Deputies were sent to Tori Bowie’s home for a well-being check after her loved ones told cops they had not seen or heard from her in several days.

When officers arrived at her residence in the 5400 block of Bowman Drive they made entry and found Bowie dead in the room. While a preliminary investigation showed no foul play was involved, The Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating the circumstances to determine the death cause.

“We join our friends at USA Track & Field and across the Olympic community in mourning the passing of 3x Olympic medalist Tori Bowie,” tweeted Team USA. 

“She was an admired friend, teammate, and a great representative of Team USA. We send our sincere condolences to all who know and loved her.”

Tori Bowie was born on August 27, 1990, in Sand Hill, Mississippi, and grew up in a small town called Rankin County. Her parents were both truck drivers, and Tori was the youngest of their four children.

As a child, Tori was always interested in sports, but it wasn’t until high school that she began to focus on track and field. She attended Pisgah High School, where she played basketball and ran track. In her senior year, she won the state championship in the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash.

After graduating from high school in 2008, Tori attended the University of Southern Mississippi, where she continued to compete in track and field. In 2012, she graduated with a degree in business administration and marketing.

Tori’s breakout year came in 2014, when she won the silver medal in the 100 meters at the US Outdoor Track and Field Championships. She also competed in the long jump at the same event, finishing in fourth place.

In 2015, Tori won the bronze medal in the 100 meters at the World Championships in Beijing, China. She also competed in the 200 meters and the 4×100 meter relay, finishing fifth and fourth, respectively.

At the 2016 Rio Olympics, Tori won three medals: a gold in the 4×100 meter relay, a silver in the 100 meters, and a bronze in the 200 meters. She became the first American woman to win a medal in both the 100 meters and the long jump at the same Olympics since Florence Griffith Joyner in 1984.

Off the track, Tori was known for her faith and her charitable work. Condolences to her family.

Tori Bowie was born to parents Carlos and Kishia Bowie. Her parents were both truck drivers and raised Tori and her three older siblings in a small town called Sand Hill in Rankin County, Mississippi. Tori has credited her parents for instilling in her a strong work ethic and providing her with the support and encouragement she needed to pursue her athletic dreams. Despite the demands of their jobs, Tori’s parents made it a priority to attend her track meets and other sporting events throughout her childhood and teenage years.

Tori Bowie’s net worth was estimated to be around $1 million. Her income primarily comes from her professional track and field career, where she has won numerous medals and endorsements deals. In addition to her athletic pursuits, Tori has also appeared in a number of modeling campaigns and has worked with brands like Nike and Oakley.
