Boosie Badazz Says He Walked Out Of 'The Color Purple' Because Of Its LGBTQ Content

Boosie Badazz has indicated he’s not a fan of the lesbian storyline in the movie The Color Purple. The controversial rapper, who has endured backlash for his anti LGBTQ stance claims he went to see the stage musical with his girls, but was forced to walk out of the theater alongside two older couples because of an apparent display of queer sexuality.

“I HAD TO WALK OUT THIS COLOR PURPLE  MOVIE ( N TWO OTHER OLDER COUPLES WALKED OUT ALSO.) 🍿BECAUSE I HAD MY LITTLE GIRLS WITH ME N IT SEEMED LIKE A 🌈 LOVE STORY,” he wrote on X.

While the Wipe Me Down rapper acknowledged the stellar acting on display, he argued the writers were “pushing the narrative” with the script. “AS A PARENT I WILL NOT LET MY LITTLE GIRL WATCH THIS FILM.”

Boosie has an unexplained obsession with reprimanding anything LGBTQ+ related. In an interview with Math Hoffa’s My Expert Opinion podcast, the Baton Rouge native talked about how he’s never been afraid to use his platform to speak on things that he feel is right — or wrong — and he doesn’t care what people think about it.

“Everybody who speak the truth, they try to make you seem crazy,” he said. “Anything I speak on, I feel deeply that way. Everything I speak, I stand on it. It’s just that the world took it out of context, and said that I have something against those people, when I don’t.”

He continued: “People have to understand that it’s not the same stroke for the same folk. My f****n’ assistant manager is gay as f***. Like, bruh. I don’t know where people get that from. He understands me. He know I don’t have any ill will towards those people. He deals with money. He deals with business. It ain’t never looked at like that. I trust gay people more than I trust regular people.”
