Nicki Minaj and her husband are seemingly unpopular among their neighbors. TMZ reports hundred of Hidden Hills residents have signed a petition to have the Starships singer and her sex offender husband, Kenneth Petty kicked out of the neighborhood.
The petition started by Hidden Hills resident, Beverly Bardan fears Kenneth’s past as a convicted felon is a safety risk that could drive down the values of their homes. She is reportedly encouraging Nicki’s neighbors to warn other residents about Kenneth, who is currently serving one year of home detention for failing to register as a sex offender in California.
Nicki Minaj moved to the fancy neighborhood last December after splashing $19.5 million on her estate. Neighbors reportedly became worried of her arrival and created the “SAY NO TO SEX OFFENDERS IN HIDDEN HILLS” petition. So far the petition has received more than 800 signatures.
In 1995, Petty was convicted for the attempted first-degree rape of a 16-year-old girl. He was sentenced to between 18 and 54 months in New York state prison, serving for just under four years.
After getting married to Nicki Minaj in 2019, Petty, relocated to Cali. He was arrested the following year for failing to register as a sex offender in Los Angeles, as required by law.
Prior to their marriage, Nicki Minaj defended Petty’s past actions on social media, writing: “He was 15, she was 16 … in a relationship. But go awf, internet, y’all can’t run my life. y’all can’t even run y’all own life.”
The 44-year-old Petty was also previously convicted of first-degree manslaughter and served a 7-year prison sentence for his part in a fatal shooting that occurred in 2002.
