Former Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka was suspended from the NBA for the 2022-2023 season over alleged sexual relations with a Celtics employee.
The subject seemed sensitive in the beginning with the Boston Celtics management refusing to identify the woman. However, new informations about the affair including the name of the alleged mistress has finally been revealed.
According to the Daily Mail, That employee was the team service manager Kathleen Nimmo Lynch, who served as a team liaison. One of Lynch’s tasks was arranging travel for the families of the Celtics players, coaches, and front office, and she was considered Udoka’s subordinate.
Lynch, 34, is a mother of three and a devout Mormon. She was hired because of her friendship with the daughter of former Celtics’ boss (and devout Mormom) Danny Ainge.
A source familiar with the investigation told DailyMail that the affair was consensual, short lived, and had ended by the time investigators got involved.
“I know the whole story front and back,’ the source said per DM. ‘It’s as basic as can get. All the acts were 100 percent consensual.”
According to the source, Lynch is devastated over the scandal and won’t go outside for fear of being noticed given her name and photo have circulated widely.
‘She can’t even go to a grocery store,’ one person said.
In the aftermath of his suspension, Udoka expressed remorse.
‘I want to apologize to our players, fans, the entire Celtics organization, and my family for letting them down,’ Udoka’s statement read. ‘I am sorry for putting the team in this difficult situation, and I accept the team’s decision. Out of respect for everyone involved, I will have no further comment.’
