Rapper Sexyy Red has sent her condolences following a tragic shooting incident that occurred during the filming of a music video in Florida. The incident took place at Oakland Park Flea Market while Sexyy Red, 25, and her frequent collaborator Sukihana were shooting the video for their upcoming song ‘Shake Ya Dreadz.’

Shots were fired nearby, resulting in two individuals being hit. Sadly, one person lost their life at the scene, while the other was swiftly taken to a local hospital for treatment.

WPLG reports that two individuals were apprehended by deputies from the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, who are currently probing the connection between the shooting and the video shoot.

Sexyy Red, whose real name is Janae Nierah Wherry, addressed the tragic occurrence in an Instagram Story message, extending her condolences to the family of the deceased and offering prayers for the wounded person. ‘I send my condolences to the family of the man who lost his life and prayers up for the person who was wounded,’ she wrote.

She also clarified that the incident did not occur directly at her video shoot, explaining it happened at a gas station across the street from the set.

‘But I gotta address the rumors that it happened at my video shoot [because] s*** it’s not true at all. To be clear, it happened at a gas station across the street from my video set.’

Sexyy Red extended her gratitude to her production team for handling paperwork diligently and working with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to ensure everyone’s safety. She confirmed that they completed the shoot at a different location, and all members of their team returned home safely.

‘I’m just trying to work hard and, make good music, connect with my fans. Please don’t try to twist narratives and put this on a b***h,’ she concluded.
