Yo Gotti‘s brother, Anthony “Big Jook” Mims, was killed in a shooting after attending a funeral service on Saturday (January 13). The shooting reportedly went down outside of Perignons Restaurant and Event Center on the 6300 block of Winchester Road.
According to Fox13 Memphis, Two men were injured during the shooting. One man—later identified as Big Jook—was rushed to a hospital, where he died. The other man arrived at St. Francis Hospital by private vehicle and was listed in critical condition. Police believe they were both targeted.
While it’s unconfirmed who’s funeral Jook was attending, his last IG stories was a tribute to a fallen relative. “RIP UNK Las Vegas Eric legendary kingpin.” His sister—who goes by Robin Chanel on Instagram— also shared an “RIP Eric Bovan” in her Stories.
Although the exact details of the shooting are unclear at this point, several social media posts are tying it to Young Dolph, who was fatally shot in Memphis in 2021.
It’s no secret that Yo Gotti and Young Dolph were beefing at the time of his death, and many are assuming Jook was killed in retaliation. TMZ also adds that the location of Jook’s murder is not far from where Dolph’s murder took place and is on the same block as Gotti’s restaurant, which if you recall was swarmed by police hours after Dolph’s murder in fear of possible retaliation.
Yo Gotti has yet to comment on the matter publicly. Police have obtained surveillance footage of the shooting but have not been able to identify the suspect.
