“I am so thrilled to honor and celebrate these four giants in the music industry,” said Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason jr. “Last year’s inaugural event was such a highlight during Grammy Week and now with Dre, Missy, Wayne, and Sylvia there to pay tribute to this year, it’s definitely going to be another night to remember. I continue to be proud of the work of our Black Music Collective as it’s a vital part of what we do here at the Academy.”

Meanwhile, Billboard reports Dr. Dre is on the verge of sealing a $200 million deal with Shamrock Holdings and Universal Music Group for a piece of his catalog. Some of the assets set to be acquired in the mega-deal include royalties from two of his solo albums and his share of N.W.A. artist royalties; his producer royalties; the master recording of his first solo album, The Chronic, and a portion of Kendrick Lamar’s releases through Aftermath’s joint deal with Interscope and Top Dawg Entertainment.
