Beyoncé and JAY-Z are now tied for the most Grammy nominations of all time. Her husband Jay-Z previously held the title as the musician with the most Grammy nomniations with 83, but Beyoncé tied his record on Tuesday (November 15) when she earned nine nominations for the 65th Grammy Awards.
Beyoncé’s No. 1 hit “Break My Soul” reeled in record and song of the year nominations, while her dance album “Renaissance” netted an album of the year nod. She also earned her first nominations in the dance/electronic categories.
Jay-Z also earned five nods this year including two for his work on Renaissance and three for his guest appearance on DJ Khaled’s “God Did.”
Each spouse now holds the record for the most-ever Grammy nominations at 88 apiece.
With 28 wins to date, the superstar singer is the most awarded female artist in the history of the Grammys. She could surpass late Hungarian-British conductor Georg Solti’s record of 31 to become the most awarded artists if she wins at least four out of the nine she’s nominated for.
The 65th annual ceremony will air live on CBS from L.A.’s Crypto.com Arena on Feb. 5, 2023. See a partial list of nominations below.
