The last few years have been sort of bitter sweet for The Sickest Drama. The Kingston Jamaican native welcomed his daughter in 2020 and then lost his father nearly two years later. After taking time off to grieve, TSD is finally ready to release his much anticipated debut album ‘Luxury Tax.’
Set to be released on Saturday(April 15), Luxury Tax includes the already released White Noise. The artwork and Tracklist imagery shows a mashup of some famous athletes and their defining moments in sports, including Maradona’s 1986 World Cup triumph and Kobe Bryant’s 2001 championship bathroom picture where he was upset because his father allegedly didn’t attend any of the games.
“Luxury Tax is about the dichotomy of tragedy and triumph,” said The Sickest Drama via email. “The cover is of Kobe, getting his second ring, very solemn holdin the trophy at the peak of his powers professionally while also alienated from his family at the time.”
Sherie, Dizzy The Ill One and RZNZ are listed as guest features on the 10-track LP, while Dizzy The Ill One, Massy The Creator, DamienBeatz, Wolvesden and Justin Jay Beatz serve as producers.
