The Sickest Drama spent a large part of the lockdown working on his debut album Luxury Tax. With the LP now completed and ready for release, the Kingston Jamaican native unleashes the project’s first single, White Noise.
Over a bold instrumental by Mass The Creator, White Noise finds TSD delivering ominous rhymes with distinctive swagger.
“I’m stepping outside the box, thinking different and innovating with each song on this album. Massy blessed me with an incredible arrangement that challenged me to find new pockets and its one of the reasons I really appreciate him as a producer on this project”, Drama said about the song.
Dizzy The Ill One handles hook duty on this record, in addition to executive producer credits on the album as a whole. “My vision is that we are looking to make a statement with this album, The Sickest Drama is a traditional MC but with this, we are also looking towards the future of the genre, its 2023, what does a lyricist sound like as we race towards the singularity in the digital consciousness? It’s time to embrace the dawn of a new age”.
“White Noise” follows the release of “September 2nd,” an ode to his father who passed away on the song’s titular date. Stream it below, and expect Luxury Tax to arrive on April 15.
