While speaking with The Art Of Dialogue, Styles P spoke on The Lox’s appearance on Jay-Z’s Reservoir Dogs and detailed why he decided to take shots at Hov with his verse. In the interview, the Yonkers legend said he was feeling heated because Jay-Z wouldn’t let them have a minute before rushing them to the studio.

“We was on the road somewhere and we flew in to do it. We didn’t want to, we wanted to put it off to the next day,” Styles P recounted. “At least be able to drop our bags and do some shit, but we end up going straight to the studio and we were there for obviously a few hours. Everybody laid they part except Hov and myself.”

Styles P said he had to record his verse the next day because the others wanted to leave the studio and go to the club.

“There was a club opening that night and everybody wanted to go to the club or go out and leave the studio and do whatever, and so me being me, when it was time to do the later verse, I laid the verse,” Styles P added, noting he was still feeling tight about JAY’s short-notice.

P further admitted he was ‘pretty f-cking ignorant back then’ and blamed his actions on the the things he was dealing with at the time.

“I was a very egotistical prideful cowboy and I popped a lot of shit. Literally I was going through a lot of shit outside of music at that time of my life also so that energy was just transferring into music.
