Drake brought his mom, Sandi Graham, to tears on Tuesday night (July 25) when he performed a special tribute to her during his second of three shows at Madison Square Garden.
The Canadian rapper invited Graham onto the stage and seated her on a leather couch as he performed the song “Look What You’ve Done,” from his 2012 album, Take Care. The song serves as a heartfelt tribute to Sandra Graham, as well as his late uncle and grandmother.
As Drake performed the song, Graham wiped tears from her eyes and looked at her son with a loving smile. After rapping the lyrics to his mom, Drake hugged her before her tears flowed.
The crowd also gave Graham a warm ovation, and many fans took to social media to express their admiration for Drake’s gesture.
“Drake bringing his mom out on stage to perform ‘Look What You’ve Done’ is one of the most heartwarming things I’ve ever seen,” one fan tweeted. “He clearly loves her so much.”
“Drake’s tribute to his mom was so beautiful,” another fan wrote. “It’s clear that she’s his biggest inspiration.”
Drake has always been open about his love and admiration for his mother. Their connection is evident not only in their public appearances but also in his personal life. Last summer, he got his first face tattoo, which features his mother’s initials, “S.G,” serving as a permanent tribute to her influence and significance in his life.
During the lead-up to the release of his 2021 album, Certified Lover Boy, Sandra Graham penned a sweet and touching poem expressing her pride in her superstar son.
“It’s finally come, the countdown has reached one, with each new album my heart skips a beat, being your mother has been my life’s greatest treat,” she wrote. “It’s been a long hard road together, now there’s one more day to go. I wanna celebrate you son, more than you’ll ever know.”
Next up, Drake is getting set to release his forthcoming album, “For All The Dogs,” which is expected to drop within the next couple of weeks.
