Detroit concertgoers got the surprise they were hoping for when Eminem made a special appearance during 50 Cent‘s latest tour stop in the Motor City on Sunday (September 17.) The G-Unit founder, alongside his mentor and longtime collaborator Eminem, took the stage for an unforgettable moment.

Eminem, wearing his signature hoodie amazed the home crowd as he stepped onto the stage to deliver his verse on “Patiently Waiting” from Get Rich Or Die Tryin.’ The duo also captivated the audience with their 2009 hit “Crack a Bottle” off Eminem’s Relapse album.

Before leaving the stage, Eminem showed his appreciation for 50 Cent, saying, “Detroit, make some noise for one of the best friends I’ve ever known, 50 Cent. Make some noise for Hip-Hop’s 50th birthday y’all.”

50 Cent and Eminem share a close bond that traces back to 2002, when the Detroit legend signed the NYC rapper to his Shady Records label. This pivotal moment marked the beginning of a relationship that extended far beyond the realm of music.

In a recent interview with Men’s Health, 50 Cent spoke about Eminem’s profound influence on his life and career, “[Eminem] is one of the most important people to me and to my career. He offered me a safe place, he just never participated in anything negative, I guess he just wanted me to win the entire time.”

The Final Lap tour commemorates the 20th anniversary of the release of 50 Cent’s classic debut studio album, “Get Rich or Die Tryin’.” Throughout the tour, which kicked off July in Salt Lake City, the Many Men rapper has also brought other special guests to the stage, including Busta Rhymes, Jeremih, Nas and J. Cole. The latter even boldly declared “Get Rich Or Die Tryin'” as the “best album of all time,” ranking it above Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.”
