Nas Drops “Magic 3” on His 50th Birthday

Nas and Hit-Boy cap off their Magic series with the release of Magic 3, marking a significant milestone as Nasir celebrates his 50th birthday.

The album not only commemorates Nasir’s half-century mark but also stands as his sixth release within a span of three years, representing his final collaborative effort with Hit-Boy. Spanning 15 tracks, “Magic 3” delves into Nas’s illustrious career, offering poignant reflections on songs like “Superhero Status” and “I Love This Feeling,” where he candidly reveals having discreetly stepped away from the rap scene at various points. As he eloquently puts it, “They asking if I’m ever gon’ be over rap, but I left a few times, just never told you that.”

In tracks like “Sitting With My Thoughts,” Nas takes us back to his origins, while on “TSK,” he addresses insincere critics and keyboard warriors with a stern rebuke.

Following closely on the heels of Magic 2, released just shy of two months prior and featuring notable collaborations with 21 Savage and 50 Cent, Magic 3 upholds the consistent production prowess of Hit-Boy, who helmed all three albums.

In anticipation of the album’s drop, Nas unveiled the official cover via social media about 48 hours before the release. In his caption, he expressed gratitude, stating, “I want to thank everyone for taking this ride with Hitboy and I. It’s been nothing short of magical! The album drops on my birthday. Thursday 9-14 at 9pm. Forever grateful, Enjoy!! Nasir Jones.”

The album boasts a solitary feature with Lil Wayne lending his talents to “Never Die.” Stream Magic 3 below.
