Kodak Black is a proud father of four. The rapper and his girlfriend Maranda Johnson welcomed their second child together on Tuesday (Feb. 27), and Kodak even helped deliver the baby himself.
Johnson announced the happy news on X, formerly Twitter. “2/27 a prince was born,” she wrote, implying that the baby is a boy. She also revealed that Kodak, whose real name is Bill Kapri, was actively involved in the delivery process. “Our midwife really let bill deliver our son himself,” she added
The couple, who have been dating since 2022, also share a two-year-old daughter named Queen Yuri. Kodak has two other children from previous relationships: an eight-year-old son named King Khalid and a one-year-old daughter named Izzabella.
The birth of his fourth child comes as a blessing for Kodak, who has been dealing with legal troubles recently. The 26-year-old was arrested in December 2023 on charges of drug possession, evidence tampering and being improperly parked. However, the charges were dismissed earlier this month after it was proven that Kodak had a prescription for the drugs and that the substance found in his car was not cocaine.
The “Super Gremlin” hitmaker was released from jail on Feb. 21 after pleading guilty to a parole violation. He celebrated his freedom by throwing rocks at a news crew that was waiting outside the detention center.
According to WPLG Local 10’s Rosh Lowe, “My photographer [was] hit in the ribs by those rocks, and he’s simply doing his job to bring all of you at home these images. [We were] trying to get Kodak Black to explain — he’s a public figure — what it was like being in jail the last couple of months.”
A police report was filed against him for the incident.
Despite his legal woes, Kodak seems to be focused on his music and his family. He is reportedly working on a new album, which will be his first since his presidential pardon from Donald Trump in January 2023. He also released his first solo single of 2024, “Shampoo,” on Feb. 19.
