Ahead of the release of his new album Almost Healed, Lil Durk sat down with DJ Akademiks on Spotify’s Off The Record podcast for a lengthy interview. During their chat, Durk spoke about his beef with NBA YoungBoy, King Von’s death and more.

The 30-year old also revealed he worked with Kanye West on “Almost Healed,” but decided against using any of the former billionaire’s “genius” contributions.

“He actually did my whole album,” Durk told DJ Akademiks during the Tuesday (May 23) episode of the podcast. “But I ain’t use it. He, like, tweaked with the beat, he put some vocals behind some beats. He played with a couple records. I’ma say that, he played with a couple records. He did some genius sh-t.”

The OTF label boss further explained that he’s hoping to use Ye’s contributions for a possible deluxe edition of “Almost Healed.” “I’m trying to see if I can come back with some genius sh-t with it, man, and double my sales,” the GRAMMY nominee added.

Durkio also reflected on his relationship with Kanye West and noted that the Graduation rapper was seemingly in good spirits when they met at a hotel.

“I went to the hotel where he was at. He’s actually in a good head space,” he said. “I guess the bullshit that was going on with him was getting to him but he’s definitely in a good headspace.”

“Almost Healed” is out now, with features from J. Cole, Alicia Keys, Kodak Black, Morgan Wallen and more. You can stream the album here.
