Ludacris is keeping his cool in the face of some wild accusations from comedian Katt Williams. During a recent interview on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast, Williams insinuated that Ludacris had sold his soul to the Illuminati for fame, recounting a bizarre crossroads scenario where one of them had to cut their hair and the other was promised $200 million for a movie deal.
“So there was a crossroads where we were both invited to an Illuminati thing. And it had to be one or the other of us and decisions had to be made. So it was both of us. We were equal,” he recalled. “One of us had to cut off all their hair and couldn’t do the sideburn thing no more with the points. And the next person they said was going to get $200 million because they were going to pay him 10 million a movie to do 20 movies. And that’s how the conversation happened.”
“One of those persons turned out to be Ludacris and the other person turned out to be Katt Williams.” He then took things a bit personal, saying that “one person ended up with a light-skinned ugly face wife,” adding that it’s “part of what they give you. I didn’t get it. I’m not mad about it.”
Ludacris, rather than engaging in a social media back-and-forth, opted to address the allegations through familiar territory. Within 24 hours, the ATL rap icon released a freestyle over the beat of “Devil in a New Dress” from Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, refuting Williams’ claims and offering his perspective on the matter.
While the freestyle doesn’t directly mention Williams by name, Ludacris insinuates the comedian might be on drugs.
“They throwing shade ’cause n***as could never take my shine / I bring my watch collection on my jet, let me take my time / Like fine wine, I’m aging like Benjamin / Top 5 I’m worth mentioning / Bring me rappers I’m lynching ’em / See the pendellum swing, Jesus with diamond thorns / Ludacris – swaddled in Gucci linens when I was born,” Ludacris raps.
Addressing the Illuminati allegations head-on, Ludacris states, “Never been Illuminati, only a Luda-nati / I only left with b****** when coming from any party / Now I’m married with kids, the evolution of life / Never been a clout chaser, never say sh*t for likes / R.I.P. John Singleton / You never have to flex / When you earn every one of your Fast and Furious checks / Afro with the sideburns, yeah that’s my signature / Addiction’s on the rise, comedians check your temperature.”
In response to Katt Williams’ extensive interview, Ludacris is not the only one providing feedback. Kevin Hart, Cedric The Entertainer, and Michael Blackson have also weighed in on the wild allegations levied against them.
Kevin Hart expressed concern for Katt Williams, stating, “Gotta get that anger up outcha champ….It’s honestly sad,” while promoting his new Netflix action movie “Lift.”
Cedric The Entertainer, annoyed by continued allegations of joke theft, asserted his extensive career and contributions to comedy. He addressed Katt Williams indirectly, stating, “Revisionist history, regardless of whatever Katt’s opinion. My career can’t be reduced to one joke Katt Williams claims as his. I been over 40 movies, my specials and brand speaks volumes for who I am.”
Continuing, he dismissed confrontational talk, asserting, “And all that tough talk! is corny [as f***]. I’m [a] grown a** man, and none of that sh*t gonna go like you think. You do you and I go this over here.”
