Moonbin Cause Of Death, Tributes Pour In As K-Pop Star Dead At 25

K-pop star Moonbin, of the popular boy band Astro, has died at the age of 25. According to YonHapNews Television, Moonbin was found dead by his manager at home in Gangnam-gu, Seoul at 8.10 pm Tuesday.

Astro’s label Fantagio Music announced the tragic news in a statement shared on the band’s official Instagram. ‘On April 19th, Astro member Moonbin suddenly left us and became a star in the sky,” the statement reads.

‘Although it cannot be compared to the grief of the bereaved families who lost their beloved sons and brothers, the Astro members who have been with us for a long time, as well as our Fantagio fellow artists and executives, are deeply mourning the deceased in great sadness and shock.

‘It is even more heartbreaking to deliver the sudden news to the fans who have supported Moonbin and sent him generous love.
‘I am more heartbroken because I know the heart of the deceased who always loved and thought of his fans more than anyone else.’

Fantagio says the family will hold a private funeral with close family, friends, and colleagues.

Astro fans were devastated by the news, with many expressing their shock in the comments.

“Rest in peace. This is heartbreaking and I cannot just accept this news… This is truly heartbreaking may the almighty give the members and the family members strength,” wrote one fan.

“It’s only been a day and I’m still in shock. We will miss you so much, Moonbin,” wrote another fan. “I am so sorry that you were in pain and none of us knew. My heart goes to his family and friends.”

Another added, “We will always miss you Moonbin, pleqse rest well.”

“I can believe this is real. Rest in peace angel, you will never be forgotten,” said another fan.

Moonbin, born Moon Bin, was part of the original lineup for Astro, debuting in 2016 with five other singers, including MJ, Jinjin, Rocky, Cha Eun-woo, and Yoon San-ha. The group’s hits included “Candy Sugar Pop,” “Crazy Sexy Cool” and “Baby.”

Moonbin took a brief pause from the band in 2019 due to health-related reasons but made his return the following year. The group had a concert scheduled for mid-May, but that’s been canceled according to event promoter Lumina Entertainment.

An official cause of death has yet to be revealed, but South Korean police reportedly found him dead in his apartment in Gangnam-gu, Seoul after allegedly not showing for a recent rehearsal.
