Tennis star, Naomi Osaka and her rapper-boyfriend Cordae are expecting their first child together. The multiple grand-slam winner made the announcement on social media by sharing a photo of her sonogram.
In the attached message written on the notes app, Naomi says she’s looking forward to her proud kid watching her play matches.
“The past few years have been interesting to say the least, but I find that its the most challenging times in life that may be the most fun,” she began. “These few months away from the sport has really given me a new love and appreciation for the game I’ve dedicated my life to.”
“I realize that life is so short and I don’t take any moments for granted, everyday is a new blessing and adventure,” she continued. “I know that I have so much to look forward to in the future, one thing I’m looking forward to is for my kid to watch one of my matches and tell someone, ‘that’s my mom,’ haha.”
In her message the 25-year-old also revealed she would make her long-awaited return to the Tennis court at next year’s Australian Open.
She concluded the lengthy message with some words of aspiration for her fans about life, and the lessons she’s learned. “I don’t think there’s a perfectly correct path to take in life but I always felt that if you move forward with good intentions you’ll find your way eventually.”
Though Naomi did not mention anything about the child’s father, a source close to Naomi tells TMZ Cordae is the baby daddy. The two went public with their relationship in 2019.
During a GQ cover story, Cordae revealed he didn’t know Naomi was a Tennis star when they first met.
“It’s not my sport. If you asked me about tennis, before being immersed in it because of Naomi, I could only give you Venus and Serena Williams, you know? Because they’re just a part of the culture.”
Congratulations to the couple.
