Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter who was born on December 13, 1989, in Reading, Pennsylvania. She grew up on a Christmas tree farm in nearby Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, and developed a love for music at a young age. Swift started playing guitar when she was 12 years old and began writing songs shortly thereafter. At age 14 she moved to Nashville to become a country artist. 

She signed a songwriting deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing in 2004 and a recording contract with Big Machine Records in 2005. In 2006, Swift released her debut album, titled “Taylor Swift,” which included the hit singles “Teardrops on My Guitar” and “Our Song.” The self-titled album went on to become certified platinum and launched Swift’s career in the music industry.

Swift followed up her debut album with the release of “Fearless” in 2008. The album included the hit singles “Love Story” and “You Belong with Me” and became one of the best-selling albums of all time. Swift won numerous awards for her work on “Fearless,” including four Grammy Awards.

Over the next few years, she released several more successful albums, including “Speak Now” in 2010, “Red” in 2012, and “1989” in 2014. Each album showcased Swift’s growth as an artist and her ability to connect with her fans through her songwriting.
