Post Malone’s ‘AUSTIN’ Album First Week Sales

UPDATE: Post Malone earns his fifth consecutive top-five-charting album with “Austin,” which enters the chart at No. 2, behind Travis Scott’s impressive 496,000 for Utopia.

According to Billboard, “Austin” earned 113,000 streams in the U.S., of which vinyl sales contributed 11,500 copies sold, marking Post Malone’s biggest week ever on Vinyl.

Original Post: Austin, Texas native Post Malone released his long-awaited fifth studio album, AUSTIN, on Friday, July 29. The album, titled after his legal first name, Austin Richard Post, comprises 17 tracks, including hit singles like “Chemical,” “Mourning,” and “Overdrive.”

Despite its lack of features, HitsDailyDouble projects that AUSTIN will sell about 100,000 album-equivalent units in its first week. This would be slightly lower than the first-week sales of Malone’s previous album, Twelve Carat Toothache, which moved 121,000 units in its first week.

However, it is worth noting that AUSTIN is a more personal and introspective album than Twelve Carat Toothache. Malone has said that the album is about “finding his way back to himself” after a period of personal turmoil. As a result, it is possible that AUSTIN will connect with fans on a deeper level.

The 28-year-old artist proudly claims that he played the guitar on every single song of the album, which he described as “a really, really fun experience.”

On Instagram, the ‘Congratulations’ singer expressed his gratitude and excitement for the album’s release, stating that “AUSTIN” captures who he is as both a man and an artist in this moment.
