Travis Scott, Burna Boy and Luke Combs have been announced as performers at the 66th annual Grammy Awards next month. The trio will hit the stage at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on February 4 alongside previously confirmed performers Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish and Dua Lipa.
Scott is aiming for his first-ever Grammy win as his latest album “UTOPIA” is nominated for Best Rap Album. Despite nine previous nominations, the Houston native remains empty-handed.
The Best Rap Album category features strong contenders like Drake & 21 Savage’s “Her Loss,” Killer Mike’s “Michael,” Metro Boomin’s “Heroes & Villains,” and Nas’s “King’s Disease III.“
“Utopia” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, securing Travis Scott’s third chart-topping project, following “Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight” (2016) and “Astroworld” (2018).
Burna Boy, on the other hand, stands to win big with five Grammy nominations. His chances include Best Global Music Album, Best African Music Performance, Best Global Music Performance, and Best Melodic Rap Performance.
With 10 career Grammy nominations, Burna Boy’s “Twice As Tall” clinched the Best Global Music Album at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards in 2021.
The 2024 Best Global Music Album category features Burna Boy’s “I Told Them…” competing against Susana Baca’s “Epifanías,” Bokanté’s “History,” Davido’s “Timeless,” and Shakti’s “This Moment.”
Burna Boy’s collaboration with 21 Savage, “Sittin’ on Top of the World,” earned a nomination for Best Melodic Rap Performance, facing contenders like Doja Cat’s “Attention,” Drake & 21 Savage’s “Spin Bout U,” Lil Durk featuring J. Cole’s “All My Life,” and SZA’s “Low.”
The Nigerian’s appearance will make him the first African artist to perform at the ceremony.
