Former OnlyFans Model Courtney Clenney Misses Court Appearance; Defense Blames Prosecutors for Trial Delay

Courtney Clenney, a former OnlyFans model known online as “Courtney Tailor,” faces charges of second-degree murder for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend, Christian “Toby” Obumseli, in their upscale Florida condo in 2022. On Tuesday, Clenney was absent from a court hearing as her legal team criticized the prosecution for delaying the trial, which has kept her in custody since her August 2022 arrest.

Defense Claims Prosecution Causing Delays in Trial

Clenney’s lawyer, Sabrina Puglisi, pointed to the state as the primary reason for trial delays. “I just want to make it clear that this delay has been because of the state,” Puglisi emphasized, adding, “My client has been in custody since January.” Puglisi also mentioned that they have pending motions to file regarding Clenney’s prolonged custody.

Key Hearing Addresses Evidence Handling

Tuesday’s hearing also focused on specific evidence, including a laptop belonging to Obumseli, which prosecutors alleged Clenney and her parents, Kim and Deborah Clenney, illegally accessed following his death. However, these charges were dismissed in July, and Clenney’s defense team argued that her parents were authorized to use the shared device.

The defense requested the laptop’s return, arguing that the possession of the laptop is unrelated to the current proceedings. They also noted that additional time may be needed to file further motions regarding the device.
