Nicki Minaj‘s “Pink Friday 2 World Tour” stop at Madison Square Garden got a major boost on Saturday night (March 30) with a surprise guest appearance from 50 Cent.
The energy was electric as they performed their collaboration “Beep Beep (Remix)” from Minaj’s “Pink Friday 2 (Gag City Deluxe)” live for the first time together. 50 Cent then kept the momentum going with a medley of his greatest hits, including “Candy Shop,” “Many Men,” and “In Da Club,” igniting the sold-out arena.
However, his set wasn’t without controversy. As he left the stage, 50 Cent took aim at his ex-girlfriend Daphne Joy with a reference to recent allegations that she is involved in sex work.
“She said I love you, I said I love you back… even if you’re a lil sex worker.”
50 Cent wrote on Twitter after the performance.“[Nicki Minaj], Gag City vibes. Yo, I’m not gonna front, Nicki got all the b**ches! I looked in the crowd and was like, ‘D**n, baby, what [are] you doing?’ Then threw my jacket at these little sex workers.”
Nicki Minaj reciprocated the love, sharing a photo of them together onstage and writing, “This is so surreal to me, man, wow. Thank you to FIF! Southside, WE OUTSIDE! Two kids from QUEENS. GAG-UNIT!”
The tour continues with upcoming North American dates in Boston, Detroit, Brooklyn, and Montreal. It’s scheduled to reach Europe in May and conclude in Belgium by mid-July. Nicki Minaj is also set to headline this year’s Dreamville Festival in North Carolina alongside J. Cole and potentially Drake.
