Sexyy Red announced her pregnancy in October 2023, and since then, fans have been curious about the identity of her baby daddy. The St. Louis native recently told Billboard why she didn’t want to reveal the identity of her second child’s father.
“I don’t need everybody in my business,” she said. “Like why y’all want to be so nosy? Mind your f*cking business.”
The rapper has been very secretive about her love life, and has not revealed the name or the face of her partner. However, she did share some pictures from a maternity photoshoot on Instagram, where she posed with a blurred-out man. She captioned the since-deleted post shared on January 11 with “bd”, which stands for baby daddy.
While some people responded to the maternity photos with congratulatory messages, others were deadset on discovering who her baby’s father was.
Sexyy Red took to social media to say, “Y’all want to play detective on my good life so bad instead of worrying about them unpaid bills.” She continued, “Don’t worry about it no more; I told y’all that it is Chief Keef.”
Some fans also speculated that Drake, who featured Sexyy Red on his track “Rich Baby Daddy” was the child’s father. The two played up the rumors by appearing as a couple in the music video for the collaboration with SZA.
The “Rich Baby Daddy” video featured VHS-style footage with Drake portraying the baby daddy. Sexyy Red, who was pregnant during filming, told Billboard she enjoyed working with Drake on the video.
“It was fun,” she said. “I f*ck with Drake. He a good—he a good person, for real.”
Sexyy Red gave birth to her second child, a baby girl in February. She initially tried to hide her pregnancy while touring in 2023.
“Touring was stressful at first because nobody knew I was pregnant,” she said. “I’d be in the bedroom trying to suck my stomach in or wear clothes to show I wasn’t. It hurt to just be onstage all day holding your stomach. It’s hard to hide it.”
Sexyy Red dropped a new track titled “Get It Sexyy” on March 15. The track produced by Tay Keith, quickly climbed to the No. 1 spot on Apple Music, displacing Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign’s “Carnival.”
