Nicki Minaj Delays Release of New Album “Pink Friday 2” to Her Birthday

Nicki Minaj fans will have to wait a little longer for her new album, “Pink Friday 2.” The rapper announced on Instagram Live on Tuesday night that the album’s release date has been pushed back from November 17 to December 8, which is her birthday.

Minaj expressed her profound affection for the LP, stressing its importance in her career. “I have never in my life been so in love with something I’m working on,” she said. “Pink Friday 2, the album, is something that’s been coming for the last 5 years. This entire album will be the biggest gift I’ve ever given humanity thus far.”

She continued. “I can stand by that, I will bet any amount of money that Pink Friday 2 the album is going to make people fall in love immediately.”

Before divulging the new date, Minaj clarified that it was not influenced by the release of Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz’s joint album, “Welcome 2 Collegrove,” which was coincidentally set for the same day. She noted her close relationship with the Young Money founder, assuring fans that he would never interfere with her album launch.

“You know how me and Weezy play, he would never do that if that was my album date. So I wanted to make sure you guys are aware of that,” Minaj said.

“The new album date for this incredible body of work, that I am so proud of is on a special day to me and to the Barbz — it will come out on my birthday,” said Nicki during the live stream. “Pink Friday 2 I am so happy to announce will be out on my birthday. I’m so filled with emotions about it because y’all know it’s been a longtime coming.”

“Pink Friday 2” is the sequel to Minaj’s debut album, “Pink Friday,” which was released in 2010. While the Barbz leader has not yet announced an official single from the album, fans were treated to the release of a single last month titled “Last Time I Saw You,” that may or may not appear on the new LP.

Elsewhere on her Instagram live, She also announced that her new perfume, Pink Friday 2, will be released in partnership with Amazon & JC Penney on December 13 and December 26. Fans will also be able to sign up for the Pink Friday tour next month.
