Drake‘s long-awaited eighth studio album, For All The Dogs, finally arrived on October 6th. With a rich 23-track lineup, the album includes notable appearances from SZA, Lil Yachty, Bad Bunny, 21 Savage, Yeat, and a particularly anticipated collaboration with J. Cole on the track “First Person Shooter.”

Fans of both rappers have been eagerly awaiting a collaboration between the two, and it certainly lived up to expectations. Both Drake and Cole deliver verses that offer intimate reflections on their journeys in life and music.

Drake’s lines echo his supremacy in the music industry, while Cole confidently asserts his GOAT status. He also addresses the rumored tension with NBA YoungBoy, rapping, “I still wanna get me a song with YB, can’t trust everything that you saw on IG. Just know if I diss you I make sure you know that I hit you like I’m on your caller I.D.”

As Cole reflects on his continued success, he poses the important question: “Love when they argue the hardest MC/ Is it K-Dot, is it Aubrey, or me?/ We the big three like we started a league/ But right now, I feel like Muhammed Ali.”

The track is already causing a stir on the internet, with fans eagerly sharing their thoughts on the collaboration. One X user commented, “J. Cole might just be the best rapper right now I just have to be honest man. He is killing EVERYTHING.” Another added, “Drake had to switch up the beat so he doesn’t get eaten up on his own track by J Cole [crying face emoji].”

This marks the third collaboration between Drake and J. Cole, following “In The Morning” and “Jodeci Freestyle.”

J. Cole confirmed that his forthcoming album is titled “The Fall Off” and there’s a chance that Drake might make an appearance on it. During Drake’s It’s All A Blur tour stop in Montreal, Canada, Drake asked J. Cole if he could feature on his album, “Can I get on the album? I’m a ask in front of Montreal. ‘J. Cole, can we get on your album?’”

J. Cole responded in agreement, “Say less, goddammit!”
