Usher has been confirmed as the headliner for the 2024 Super Bowl Halftime Show. Kim Kardashian made the announcement in a video that paid homage to the Atlanta singer’s “Confessions Part II” video. Shared by the NFL and Apple Music on September 24, the clip shows Kim informing Usher about his headlining spot.

“Wait, can you talk? It’s Kim! I’ve finally got the answers to those rumors. It’s not about me, it’s about you. You’re doing the Super Bowl!” the reality star says while getting her make-up done.

“You’re playing with me,” Usher says back.

“You’re playing the Apple Music halftime show in Vegas,” she continues. “I don’t have time to play. One, I’m busy. Two, you’re doing the Super Bowl.”

In a statement, Usher said he is “honored” to be headlining the Super Bowl Halftime Show. “I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before. Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity happen,” the “Yeah!” singer continued. “I’ll see you real soon.”

Usher’s upcoming performance at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on February 11 will mark his second Super Bowl appearance. He previously shared the stage with the Black Eyed Peas during their halftime show in 2011.

Jay-Z, whose Roc Nation is producing the halftime show for the fifth year, praised Usher as the ultimate “artist and showman.”

“Usher is the ultimate artist and showman. Ever since his debut at the age of 15, he’s been charting his own unique course. Beyond his flawless singing and exceptional choreography, Usher bares his soul.”

Jay-Z continued, “His remarkable journey has propelled him to one of the grandest stages in the world. I can’t wait to see the magic.”

Usher will join a prestigious list of musicians who have graced the Super Bowl halftime stage, including Beyoncé, Madonna, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Coldplay, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, Lady Gaga and Michael Jackson. This year’s showcase was headlined by Rihanna, who announced her second pregnancy with rapper A$AP Rocky.

“The Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show is one of the most highly anticipated music events of the year and we’re excited to bring this legendary show to fans all over the world in Spatial Audio, along with tons of exclusive videos, interviews, playlists and so much more across Apple Music,” Apple’s vp of Apple Music, Apple TV+, sports and Beats Oliver Schusser said in a statement. “We are so proud of what we were able to accomplish together with the NFL and Roc Nation last year and now with the insanely talented Usher set to take the stage we’re looking forward to another incredible Halftime Show from one of the world’s all-time greatest performers.”

Usher, 44, is currently headlining his “Usher: My Way” residency in Las Vegas, which has drawn sold-out shows and rave reviews. He’s also set to begin an eight-night series of performances in Paris. Usher is expected to conclude his Las Vegas residency in early December before taking the stage for the Super Bowl halftime show a couple of months later.

The halftime show will be co-executive produced by Roc Nation and Emmy-winning producer Jesse Collins, and will be broadcast live on CBS.
