The rap feud between Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion has reached a new level of intensity, as Minaj released a fiery diss track titled “Big Foot” on Sunday (Jan. 28), in response to Megan’s “HISS” that dropped on Friday (Jan. 26).
On “Big Foot”, Minaj does not hold back and directly names Megan in the first verse, accusing her of being a liar, a flop, and an industry whore. She also brings up Megan’s deceased mother and mocks her for getting shot in the foot by Tory Lanez in 2020.
Minaj raps: “How you f*ck your mother man when she die?/How you go on GAYLE KING and can’t cry?/Big foot, but you still a small fry/Swearing on your dead mother when you lie.”
She continued, “This little beggin’ whore talkin’ ’bout Megan’s law/For a free beat, you could hit Megan raw/If you a ghost writer, Pardi in Megan jaw/Shots thrown but I still ain’t let Megan score.”
The song ends with a spoken word warning, where Minaj hints that she has more dirt on Megan and threatens to expose her. She says: “But I’m very serious. Hoe, the things that you’ve lied about, even pertaining to your mom — you don’t want them out, OK? Stay tuned for the second installment.”
Minaj’s diss track comes after she apparently interpreted that a line in Megan’s “Hiss” dissed her and her husband, Kenneth Petty, who is a registered sex offender. Megan raps: “These hoes don’t be mad at Megan, these hoes mad at Megan’s Law,” which references the federal law that requires information about registered sex offenders to be made available to the public.
Petty was convicted of attempted rape by force or fear in the mid-Nineties and served four years in prison. In 2021, he was sentenced to a year under home confinement, along with probation and a $55,000 fine, for failing to register as a sex offender in California.
Shortly after the release of “Hiss” on Friday, Minaj went off on Megan on X, formerly Twitter, calling her a liar and a flop, and appearing to imply that Megan lied about being shot by Tory Lanez. She also teased “Big Foot” on Instagram Live, where she giggled after rapping a line that mocked Megan’s height and career decline.
Minaj also shared a list of her own achievements, including platinum and gold certifications and streaming records, and contrasted them with Megan’s failures.
The beef between the two rappers dates back to 2020, when their relationship soured after Megan collaborated with Cardi B, who has a long-standing rivalry with Minaj, on the smash hit “WAP”. The tension escalated in September 2022, when Minaj claimed that Megan tried to pressure her to have an abortion when she confided in her that she might be pregnant and wanted to have a baby. However, Megan swiftly denied the allegations, calling it a “LIE.”
