Gunna created a storm last week Friday (June 2) with his new single “Bread & Butter.” In the new song, which was his first official record since he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit racketeering, Gunna took on his critics head on and addressed internet accusations that he snitched on Young Thug to regain his freedom.
Although he maintains he didn’t give no statements, he confesses his lawyer and the DA “did some sneaky shit.”
“Never gave no statement or agreed to take no stand on ‘em. On whatever you n-gas on, then trust Me, Ima stand on it. Lawyers and DA did some sneaky shit, I fell for it,” Gunna raps on the Turbo produced song.
The fiery new song also gained popularity for its alleged disses aimed at Lil Baby and Lil Durk. As you know by now, both Baby and Durk cut ties with Gunna after he agreed to an Alford plea deal. Baby, who famously credited Gunna for teaching him how to rap unfollowed him on Instagram and Durk took shots at him on a song snippet back in January.
Gunna seemingly took jabs at both of them in Bread & Butter, most noticeably Lil Baby who he accused of doing business with Quality Control CEO Pierre “P” Thomas who was revealed to be a snitch years ago.
“You b-tch a$$ n-ggas got me as the topic of the chat/ You switched on me when you know you in business with a rat,” raps Gunna. He also seemingly blasted Lil Baby for still having ties with alleged informant GFive.
As the conversations and tensions continue to heat up, Gunna has come out to debunk some of the internet deductions about the song. On Friday, Akademiks posted a video of the song with the caption, “I just wana know why Gunna talking bout Lil Baby like dis….Hollyyyyy”
Gunna popped up in the comments to shut down AK’s video allegations, writing “That’s capp.”
In another comment, he added, “I’m just letting the world hear my story.”
Regardless of what Gunna says, his decision to speak his truth hasn’t gone down well with some members of the YSL camp. In reaction to the track, Lil Gotit accused Gunna of switching up on the family.
“These n-ggas locked down there bruh and the rest of these n-ggas out here living their life like they ain’t just do that… This sh-t over for you bruh, you changed on the family,” Lil Gotit said on his Instagram stories.
