DJ Khaled reunited with Rick Ross, Lil Wayne and Jay-Z at the 2023 Grammys ceremony for a special performance of their collaboration, God Did.
Rick Ross kicked off the mega Collabo with his quick verse, and Lil Wayne, who received the Global Impact Award reminded hip hop fans why his verse should not be ignored. John Legend, and Fridayy captivated the Crypto.com audience with their soothing vocals, but Jay-Z was once again the star of the show.
The 54-year-old made headlines with his verse back in August after he exposed the inconsistencies in Merica’s war on drugs. During the four-minute long verse, which has long been broken down by pretty much everybody, Hov rapped about influencing others to be billionaires and even compared his life accomplishments to miracles performed by Jesus in the Bible, rapping “Jesus turned water to wine, for Hov, it just took a stove.”
In his Grammys performance, the Roc Nation founder continued the Bible analogy with a Last Supper’s reference. Hov sits down for a big feast flanked by some of his trusted associates and raps the now iconic verse without breaking a sweat. Not quite the 12 disciples, but the message is clear, Jay perceives himself the GOAT.

Though the rap billionaire wasn’t up for any major noms this year, he was on ground to watch his wife make history. With her victory for Best Dance/Electronic album for Renaissance, Beyoncé became the most decorated Grammy winner of all time, with 33 Grammys.
In addition to DJ Khaled and Jay-Z, the 65th Grammy Awards also included performances from Bad Bunny, Harry Styles, Lizzo, Mary J. Blige, as well as a special celebration for hip hop’s 50th birthday.
