Philadelphia, PA – Drake and Meek Mill had a nasty disagreement in 2015, which led to Drake dissing Meek Mill on the fan favorite “Back To Back.” The two have since settled their differences and are back to being best buds again.
During the first of two consecutive shows of his It’s All A Blur Tour stop in Philadelphia, Drake was accompanied to the stage by none other than Meek Mill himself. The OVO boss then took a moment to reflect on his past beef with the Dreamchasers rapper. He expressed gratitude for Meek Mill’s support and acknowledged the growth they both experienced since the much-publicized feud.
“You see who I walked out here with, right? I’ma always keep it a hundred with you,” he said, acknowledging Meek Mill’s presence on stage. “The last time I was in this building, that man right here, he’s been representing this city since he started in this sht… That man, me and him weren’t getting along at the time, and he’s a real ngga, so he definitely got us up out of Philly real quick. We did not get to stick around and chill. And like I said, I’m a real n*gga, so I’ma tell you the truth.”
Drake further conveyed his happiness at the reconciliation and the resolution of their differences. “It means the most to me that I can come back to this city and show the growth as two men, that we can come here tonight and we can represent for motherfcking Philadelphia together… That’s what this sht is about,” he passionately told the cheering crowd.
Drake and Meek Mill famously feuded in 2015 after Meek Mill took to Twitter to accuse the Toronto rapper of using a ghostwriter for his verse on their collaboration “R.I.C.O.” The tweet sparked a public war of words between the two rappers, with Meek Mill claiming that Drake was incapable of writing his own rap lyrics.
Drake responded with two diss tracks, “Charged Up” and “Back to Back,” which gained significant attention and popularity. “Back to Back” in particular received widespread acclaim and became a viral sensation.
The feud continued for several months, with other artists and fans taking sides and weighing in on the situation. However, over time, the tension between the “Amen” collaborators subsided, and they eventually reconciled. They were seen publicly on stage together in 2018, and both artists indicated that they had moved past their differences.
Since then, Drake and Meek Mill have collaborated on music and publicly shown support for each other’s work.
