Jehane had opened up about her condition on Instagram, revealing in a post shared on March 5 that she was diagnosed with optic neuritis, a condition that causes swelling of the eye’s optic nerve.

“I was diagnosed with Optic Neuritis a few months ago after nearly two years of being told my migraines were stress related. They then thought I had MS which was ruled out (for now) but now the pressure in my head literally takes me off my feet.’

Jehane Thomas Cause of Death

According to numerous reports, Johane Thomas died of crippling migraines. The 30-year-old had long-term health problems, which had kept her in-and-out of hospital in recent weeks.

In her last video on TikTok, which was posted on Wednesday (Match 15), Jehane was laying in a hospital bed, waiting to go into surgery for her condition.

“I am still waiting to go down for surgery. The reason they didn’t do it last week was because having fluids in me would solve the issue,” wrote Thomas in the in-video caption.

“I have 4 liters of fluids in me and my head this morning is horrific. I’m waiting to see if I can take one of my Frovatriptan before surgery because no other pain relief is taking this pressure or if I need to ride it out and hope the surgery gives me instant relief.”

“I can’t lift my head up without wanting to be sick and I’m unable to walk, I need to be wheeled everywhere,” continued Thomas. “That’s how bad this pain is.”

Following the surgery and week-long stay in hospital, Thomas was discharged from the emergency room but was forced to return when her migraines flared up again.

After her tragic passing, her best friend Alyx Reast organized a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for Thomas’ sons and funeral arrangements.

“Jehane Thomas was a 30-year-old, mom of two boys when she suddenly passed away on 03/17/2023,” reads the description in the crowd-funding page. “Despite suffering from migraines and bouts of illness for several months, her passing was totally unexpected and we are all absolutely heartbroken.”

6 days admitted into the hospital and I’m finally home with my boys ???? It’s been a really challenging week, not just physically but mentally. I’ve missed these two so much and feel like they’ve both grown up so much whilst I’ve been away ????

After sharing my experience, many of you have told me to go and speak to PALS which I’ll be doing in the morning. I’m then going to email my neurologist and see what plan of action he has in place because I can not keep living life like this ????

I may be home but I’m still struggling with these migraines as nothing was really done to help them after a whole week of being there and I’d rather self-medicate at home with these around me than be left in a bed on my own all day & night so I may not be fixed but I’m not giving in ????

Thank you to everyone who has reached out but most importantly thank you to my parents & Liam for taking over the boys & the house for me, always making sure they were looked after. Thank you for making sure they knew mummy was okay and sending me pictures and videos to help me get through the longest days in the hospital without them ????
A huge shoutout to my besties Alyx, Kirsty, and Marc for being by my side in the hospital when I was at my worst and not forgetting Alex for watching the boys for us and Jodie & Ciara for chipping into a huge bag of goodies for me that Alyx pampered me with ????
I adore you all and here’s to fighting to get these migraines gone for good ????????????????
