Drake has announced he’s dropping a new single this week in anticipation of his forthcoming album “For All The Dogs.” The O.V.O. founder shared the exciting news during his performance at the Moody Center in Austin on Monday night (September 11).
“I’m even going to say something tonight in Austin, Texas that I haven’t said yet,” Drake told the crowd. “I know y’all excited to hear the album, I know it’s like two weeks out. But I’m going to drop a song for y’all this week.”
“For All The Dogs” serves as the follow-up to Drake and 21 Savage’s “Her Loss.” Back in June, the ‘Hotline Bling’ artist announced the project as part of a promo campaign for his poetry book, “Titles Ruin Everything,” which he co-wrote alongside songwriter Kenza Samir; “I don’t know if I have ever wanted people to buy or support something more in my life,” he wrote in the announcement post.
The social media blast also included a link where the album’s impending arrival was initially revealed. “They say they miss the old Drake girl don’t tempt me. For All The Dogs,” he added.
According to Drake’s father, Dennis Graham, For All The Dogs features some of the most impressive music he’s heard from his son.
“I had the pleasure of sitting in my son’s dressing room and listening to this new album and I must say that it is some of the best music that I’ve heard him do,” Graham wrote on Instagram. “And I’m sure that every Drake fan throughout the entire world is going feel this one, everything about for All The Dogs is what we’ve been waiting for, Congratulations son I really feel this one.”
