Nicki Minaj recently opened up about her regret regarding the choice to feature Kanye West on “Blazin” instead of “Right Thru Me,” calling it the “dumbest decision” she ever made. During a recent TikTok live session, the New York rapper shared the backstory, revealing that she initially wanted Kanye on “Blazin,” while he preferred to collaborate on “Right Thru Me.”

“I don’t know if you guys have heard this story about ‘Blazin,’” she said, “but I wanted Kanye to be on ‘Blazin’ and he wanted to be on ‘Right Thru Me’. Dumbest fucking decision I ever made to [have him on ‘Blazin’] but it is what it is.”

“Right Thru Me” served as the second single from Nicki Minaj’s debut album, “Pink Friday.” The song blends electronic hip-hop and R&B elements, featuring an energetic electronic beat, catchy synth melodies, and impactful pop hooks, all complemented by guitar lines and a triple-meter rhythm. The lyrics convey a sense of vulnerability, exploring how a lover can see one’s true self.

The track achieved commercial success, reaching number eight on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and gaining popularity in Australia, Canada, and the UK, eventually earning platinum certification from the RIAA.

In contrast, “Blazin” was released as the album’s third single and has since become a fan favorite, maintaining its popularity over the years.

Earlier this year, Nicki Minaj  announced that she will be dropping her fifth studio album ‘Pink Friday 2’ on November 17. Last week, she released the projects first single “Last Time I Saw You.” In a statement accompanying the track, Nicki expressed her excitement for the song’s release, hoping it would be therapeutic.

“I have not been excited about the release of a song to this extent for maybe… I don’t know I can’t even tell you, I don’t even remember when! I hope that it’s therapeutic for you,” she said. “I hope that even after, it makes you reflect and that if you are reflecting on a time, or a person that you wish you could go back in time and have a do over etc… I hope that you are still able to smile at the end of the song by realizing that you now have a chance to treat the people that you love, that are still in your life the way that expresses to them what they mean to you.”

While Kanye West’s last album was “Donda 2” in 2022, sources cited by NBC News suggest that new music from the versatile artist is on the horizon.
