Isaiah Rashad broke his silence this weekend about a leaked sex tape in February that showed him engaged in a sexual act with two men. The TDE artist performed Saturday (April 16) at Coachella for the first time, and used the moment to talk about the invasion of his privacy.
Before officially kicking off his set at the Sahara tent, Rashad displayed a video compilation of the overwhelming good will messgaes he recieved from the likes of The Game, Boosie and Joe Budden in reaction to the tape.
“The purpose of doing that was to embarrass him,” a voice is heard saying in the video. “However, it backfired. When his video leaked, his streams and everything went up. He’s up on the charts now.”
From there, Rashad ran through some of his biggest hits and brought out his fellow Top Dawg Entertainment label mates including the newly signed Doechii for “Wat U Sed” and “Crazy.”
Towards the end of his set, IR emotionally thanked his fans for their support.
“I see all the messages and all that shit, all the positivity,” Rashad said. “Y’all n-ggas done kept me alive these last couple months.”
Rashad’s sophomore album, “The House Is Burning” was released on July 30, 2021. With guest appearances from Jay Rock, Lil Uzi Vert, SZA, 6lack, and Doechii, the album sold roughly 41,000 total album-equivalent units in its first week.
