Rae Sremmurd’s comeback album Sremm 4 Life is projected to open with the duo’s lowest first week sales of their career. According to reports, the brothers’ first album in five years sold just 18,000 copies in its debut week, a huge drop from their last album SR3MM, which did 57k units.
In retrospect the duo never really had success when it came to numbers with their previous albums. Their debut album SremmLife sold 49k copies in its first week, while their sophomore album SremmLife 2 sold 30k copies.
“Sremm 4 Life” is expected to enter the Billboard 200 at number 31, and will be the duo’s first project to debut outside the top 7 on the charts.
Prior to the album’s release, there was chatter on the internet that the brothers were no longer relevant due to the delay between albums. While promoting Sremm 4 Life, Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi addressed the talks and claims that they don’t appeal to the TikTok generation.
‘They act like we’re dead or something,” Swae Lee told Complex. “Our music already went up on TikTok, still. We dropped that sh-t before TikTok was even made and it’s still going on TikTok.’
‘We knew what we were working on, which is Sremm 4, so we ain’t gotta necessarily go on Oprah and say, ‘The group? We’re good. We already are sweating, waking up, going to the studio, doing shows, doing these meet-and-greets.’
“Sremm 4 Life” was released on April 7 with features by Young Thug and Future. A day before the LP’s arrival, Swae Lee took to Instagram to reflect on the project’s long-awaited arrival and the “blood, sweat and tears” that he’s poured into it.

“This past 5 years has been full of ups and downs but I will always fly high during the turbulence . I’m very excited to finally have this project finished and out for y’all !! this is my blood, sweat, and Tears in melody form ENJOY IT ALL ! SREMM4LIFE.”
Last month, Rae Sremmurd revealed they are heading out on the road with Post Malone on the “Twelve Carat Tour” in Europe.
