Suge Knight who signed Tupac to Death Row records and was with him the fateful night in 1996 when their BMW was fatally shot in Las Vegas, has responded to the recent arrest of Keefe D.

Keefe D, whose real name is Duane Davis, was arrested for his alleged role in Tupac Shakur’s murder on September 29. A Nevada grand jury indicted Davis on one count of murder with the use of a deadly weapon with the intent to promote, further or assist a criminal gang.

Speaking with TMZ, Suge expressed his surprise at the news and suggested Keefe D who he has known since they were kids had no involvement in the shooting and therefore, wouldn’t testify against him if called upon to do so.

“I never thought I’d see Keefe D get arrested nor do I want to see him get arrested,” Suge said. “Let’s get one thing straight first and foremost you know me and Keefe D played on the same Power Water football team and whatever the circumstances if he had an involvement with anything, if he didn’t have an involvement with anything… I wouldn’t want to wish somebody go to prison on my worst enemy.”

Davis is a former member of the South side Compton Crips and has publicly admitted in interviews and in his 2019 memoir, “Compton Street Legend,” that his late nephew Orlando Anderson was responsible for shooting Pac. Despite this, Suge voiced his skepticism about Anderson being the actual shooter, though he refrained from disclosing who he believes was.

“It was only two people in the car,” Knight said. “And Pac not finna tell the story. I ain’t finna tell the story. But I’ll tell you this: I never had nothing bad to say about Orlando [Anderson] because number one, he wasn’t the shooter. And number two, he came to my hearing and told [authorities] to let me go and told the truth. They still didn’t let me go.”

Currently serving a 28-year sentence for voluntary manslaughter in an unrelated case, Suge Knight stated that he has no intention of testifying against Keefe D if the case ever goes to trial, “I’m not gonna get on the stand and testify against somebody. For what? I wouldn’t go, I wouldn’t testify. None of that sh-t.”
