Recent speculation surrounding 50 Cent’s dramatic weight loss has prompted the rapper to address the issue directly. Despite various social media theories suggesting reasons for his new slimmer look, such as use of weight loss drugs, the G-Unit founder clarified that his transformation is the result of sheer hard work and consistent effort.
“They wanna talk about weight loss?” 50 Cent said in a video posted Wednesday (January 24). “I was in the gym, I was working the f*** out. And they gone’ say it’s Ozempic? I was running, I was doing what I had to do. You seen me on tour running around. I was 253 pounds, I came down, I’m 210 right now.”
This isn’t the first time 50 Cent’s physical appearance has sparked public discussion. Following his surprise Super Bowl performance alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Mary J. Blige in 2022, lighthearted jokes about his weight gain became rampant. The “In Da Club” rapper responded to the “fat” jokes, claiming the jokes about his so-called weight gain were greatly exaggerated.
“They said I was fat at the Super Bowl,” he said during an appearance on 97.9 The Box. “I’m bigger than I was in the original [‘In Da Club’] video, but damn, I ain’t fat!”
After the Super Bowl, I’ve been hungry since, man. I’ve been hungry, I’ve been getting it off.”
Meanwhile, earlier this month, 50 Cent announced some major lifestyle changes for the year ahead.
“My new idea is so big, I don’t have time to be distracted,” he wrote on Instagram. “I’m practicing abstinence, I have been meditating and focusing on my goals. I hope this New Year helps you excel to the next level.”
