A$AP Rocky and Rihanna’s baby name have finally been revealed. According to the child’s birth certificate obtained by the Daily Mail, Rocky and Rihanna’ first child is named RZA Athelston Mayers.
The child was reportedly named after Wu-Tang Clan legend and leader RZA, while his middle name is said to be derived from A$AP Rocky’s middle name ‘Athelaston,’ albeit with a slightly different spelling.
The certificate of live birth, per DM also reveals baby RZA was born May 13 at 10:58 AM at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Rihanna officially confirmed the name of her son while sharing photos from her first pregnancy. The 35-year-old Barbadian singer, who rocked glitzy jewelry and stilettos in the topless pictures, reflected on pregnancy and motherhood in the caption and confirmed that her son was called RZA.
“In honor of my first pregnancy, embracing motherhood like a g, and the magic that this body made!” she wrote. “Baby RZA… he in there not having a clue how nuts his mama is, or how obsessed he was bout to make me #maternityshoot2022 #tobecontinued.”
In a recent interview with British Vogue for her cover story, the Fenty billionaire opened up about her experiences with early motherhood.
“Oh my God, it’s legendary. It’s everything. You really don’t remember life before, that’s the craziest thing ever.”
She continued: “You literally try to remember it – and there are photos of my life before – but the feeling, the desires, the things that you enjoy, everything, you just don’t identify with it because you don’t even allow yourself mentally to get that far because… because it doesn’t matter.”
The Umbrella singer is pregnant with another child, which was first apparent in February when she performed at the Super Bowl halftime show. It’s unclear if the Bajan singer plans to be as secretive about her second child’s name.
