Damar Romeyelle Hamlin is a professional American football player who currently plays Safety for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League (NFL). Prior to playing professional football, Hamlin played college football at the University of Pittsburgh where he played three games as a freshman before suffering an injury and redshirting.
Following a successful college football career, The Buffalo Bills selected Hamlin in the sixth round with the 212th overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft, and tied him to a four-year rookie contract on May 21, 2021. After playing a reserve role his rookie season, Hamlin became one of the Bills’ starting safeties in 2022 after Micah Hyde suffered a season-ending neck injury in Week 2.

Hamlin was considered a top cornerback coming out of Central Catholic and was recruited by multiple major college football programs, including Pittsburgh, Penn State, Ohio State and Temple. He eventually enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh to play college football for the Pittsburgh Panthers, where he played in three games as a freshman before suffering an injury and redshirting. 
As a redshirt freshman, he recorded 41 tackles with one interception in nine games played. Hamlin led the Panthers with 76 tackles and two interceptions as a redshirt sophomore and was named honorable mention All-Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). He had 84 tackles with ten passes broken up as a redshirt junior. He was named a team captain going into his final season and was named second-team All-ACC after leading the team with 66 tackles and seven passes broken up.
