Keke Palmer has filed for full custody of her eight-month-old son, Leodis, whom she shares with Darius Jackson, alleging that Jackson has been physically and emotionally abusive to her.
In her custody filing, Palmer, 30, alleges that Jackson, 29, has been physically abusive to her on multiple occasions, including one incident on November 5, in which Jackson “trespassed into [her] home without [her] knowledge or consent” and “threatened” her before “lunging for [her] neck, striking [her], throwing [her] over the couch and stealing [her] phone.”
Per US Weekly, Palmer goes on to allege that there have been “many instances of physical violence” with Jackson that include “destroying [her] personal property, including diaries and prescription eyeglasses, throwing [her] belongings into the street, throwing [her] car keys to prevent [her] from driving away, hitting [her] in front of [their] son, spewing profanities about [her] to [their] son, threatening to kill himself with a gun if [she] left him, harassment, and other physical and emotional abuse.”
Palmer also alleges that Jackson has been emotionally abusive to her, calling her names and putting her down. Palmer said in her declaration that her relationship with Jackson “finally ended for good” in early October “primarily due to the physical and emotional abuse inflicted” on her by him.
The former Nickelodeon child star maintains that the entire incident was “captured by [her] home security camera, which will be played for the Court at the time of the hearing.”
Jackson has not denied the allegations of abuse, but in a social media post shared on Friday (November 10), he wrote: “I love you, son. See you soon.”
The California Superior Court filing, comes after several months of speculation about the status of Palmer’s relationship with Jackson. Back in July, Jackson publicly criticized Palmer’s outfit at an Usher concert. “It’s the outfit tho … you a mom,” Jackson wrote via X (formerly Twitter).
Following online backlash, Jackson doubled down on his opinion before deleting his social media accounts. “We live in a generation where a man of the family doesn’t want the wife & mother to his kids to showcase booty cheeks to please others & he gets told how much of a hater he is,” he added at the time. “This is my family & my representation. I have standards & morals to what I believe. I rest my case.”
The two were rumored to have split after that, but they dispelled any rumors of a breakup when they were pictured together at the Los Angeles stop of Beyoncé’s Renaissance tour. During an interview on Today With Hoda & Jenna, Palmer brushed off a question about whether she was still dating Jackson. “Yes, Life is good. I have nothing but gratitude. Honestly, seriously. I’m gonna take a page out of my girl Beyoncé’s book, mind y’all’s business.”
Palmer and Jackson started dating in August 2021 and welcomed their son in February 2023.
