Usher and his longtime girlfriend Jennifer Goicoechea recently tied the knot in a private ceremony.
According to court records, the couple married at Vegas Weddings just hours after Usher’s headline appearance at the Super Bowl halftime show on Sunday (Feb. 11). TMZ adds Usher’s mother Jonnetta Patton, was a witness to the Union officiated by Rev. Ronald Joseph Pokrywka.
“Congratulations to the Newlyweds!” President of Vegas Weddings Melody Willis-Williams said in a statement. “We were beyond thrilled to host in this epic day for Usher and his new wife. As much as we love, love, this is the couple’s news to share any further details on. We’ll always be fans of Usher! Yeah!”
Usher and Goicoechea have been dating since 2019 and share two children, daughter Sovë Wavë and son Sire Castrello. Usher also has two sons, Usher V, and Naviyd Ely, from his previous marriage to Tameka Foster.
In a recent interview with People, the R&B singer opened up about his relationship with Goicoechea, calling her his “best friend” and “amazing partner”. He also praised her abilities as a parent: “She’s better at it than me in many lights. I’m a man-man, so I’m like, ‘This is what we’re doing,’ and I might be a little bit more disciplinary at times. If there’s a slap and a hug, I’m the slap and she’s the hug. But that creates balance.”
Goicoechea, who is of Italian and Puerto Rican descent, grew up in Miami and started her career in the entertainment industry by working with her mother, Barbara Goicoechea, a director of operations at a production company. She later became a manager for artists such as KING and a director of rhythm & soul at ASCAP.
The newlyweds have not yet confirmed their marriage or shared any details about their wedding. However, fans and friends have been congratulating them on social media.
Usher divorced his first wife, Tameka Foster, in 2009 after two years together, and he won custody of their two sons. In December 2018, the singer filed for divorce after three years together with his second wife and former manager, Grace Miguel.
