YoungBoy Never Broke Again has broken his tie with Jay-Z and is now the rapper with the fifth most charting albums in Billboard 200 history. The 22-year old has released 25 projects within the six years of his career, with 24 of the 25 charting on the Billboard 200.
Billboard adds the Louisiana staple is the first rapper, and second artist to chart 16 albums on the Billboard 200 this decade. If he continues to release projects at his current trajectory, he could end up with the most charting albums in Billboard 200 history by 2024.
Bay area legend E-40 currently has the most with 32, followed by Tech9ne with 29. Jay-Z drops to number 6 with 23 charted albums. It should be noted that Hov has not released a solo album since 2017’s 4:44.
Of Jay-Z’s 23-chart-topping albums, 14 debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. His third album, 1998’s Vol. 2… Hard Knock Life remains his best performing album on the chart, spending five consecutive weeks at the top spot and stayed on the chart for another 69 weeks.
NBA YoungBoy continues to have a prolific 2022. Earlier this year he surpassed Eminem to become the only rapper with over 100 million YouTube views. He hit another milestone in his career this week when he was named the second most streamed artist of 2022. The Last Slimeto hitmaker amassed over five billion streams, and is only topped by Drake who achieved over 6.7 billion streams.
The rapper recently revealed his plans to drop another project and intends to have released ten mixtapes by the end of the year. He’s currently at the halfway point with plans to release the sixth project “Ma’ I Got a Family” this week.
The forthcoming project is set to include between 13 and 17 tracks.
